In bible there is a story about a guys that had 5 talents, made good use, and returned 20. A guy had two, made good use and returned 5. Another had 1, hid it underground and returned one. But nifstsky is the forbidden 4th one, that had 30 talents and just threw away because he could get 60 talents back with just 1.

I was surfing through the Internet because I heard of SMB Special, and I'm glad I got to see you try it out. Also, in terms of 2-3 and 6-3 where you got the 1UP on the flagpole, the reason you got it on those two levels is because you were able to collect every coin on those courses. I hope that helps.

When I was little my dad bought an NES with all three Mario’s on it. The original was always my favorite and we’d play it together all the time. He always told me that he remembered as a kid that if you collected all the coins on level 3 of any world that you’d get a one up, but when we tried to replicate it we could never actually get the one up at the end of the level. We’d continue playing and he’d show my the hidden power ups later like the 3-1 bridge 1up. I never figured out that that was the hidden 1up all along.

from what I've learned about any% runs in other games, its actually kind of insane to me that the minus world ending is not the actual any% run. is it because it only works on one specific version of the game?

Hi Kosmic I don't know if you are aware but for a few years it has been possible again to play Super Mario Bros 35 online on custom servers, (either on an emulator, or on a jailbroken switch) there are even some tournaments which are organized from time to time :)
